林珮淳,1959年出生於台灣屏東縣,致力於當代藝術超過30年。1996年獲國立澳大利亞沃隆岡大學藝術創作博士,曾任國立台灣藝術大學多媒體動畫藝術研究所教授兼所長、中國科大講座教授暨規劃與設計學院院長,現任「林珮淳數位藝術實驗室」主持人、台灣科技藝術學會理事、台灣女性藝術協會榮譽理事長。榮獲中興文藝奬章、文化部公共藝術奬、德國紅點奬、國際Picasso Mio網站亞洲最優秀藝術家之一、義大利PPLG當代藝術與文化機構「2020女性藝術」國際展「藝術計劃」類白金奬、澳大利亞傑出藝術人才永久居留等榮譽。作品被列為《台灣當代美術通鑑—藝術家雜誌40年版》2012年焦點作品、美國Ignite全球女性博物館專欄報導、國際數位藝術資料庫ADA專訪、「國際藝術雙年刋 Pripheral ARTeries Biennial」專欄研究等,更於2019年榮獲義大利佛羅倫斯雙年展「新媒體藝術類」全球首獎「羅倫佐獎第一名」之殊榮。
1989年從美國歸國,於「美國文化中心」舉辦首展,並受邀加入「2號公寓」當代藝術團體。1998年出版第一本台灣女性藝術書籍《女藝論》,與重要女性藝術家創立「台灣女性藝術協會」,成為台灣女性藝術重要推動者之一。於2010年起推動台灣數位藝術脈流研究與系列展覽,出版第一本台灣數位藝術書籍《台灣數位藝術e檔案》,可謂台灣數位藝術先行者之一。作品展於國內外重要藝術大展,美國紐約皇后美術館、美國紐約CUNY/QCC美術館、美國紐約Godwin-Ternbach美術館、美國華盛頓美國大學美術館、美國舊金山州立大學美術館、德國柏林Rosalux藝術空間、義大利Palmieri 基金會、波蘭WRO新媒體藝術中心、林茲電子藝術節香港奧沙藝術空間、上海現代美術館及台灣各大國立與市立美術館等。
Born at Ping-tong County, Taiwan in 1959, Lin, Pey-Chwen has devoted to contemporary art more than three decades. She received Doctor of Creative Arts from University of Wollongong, Australia in 1996 and was chair of Graduate School of Multimedia and Animation Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts, professor of Dept. Multimedia and Animation Arts, NTUA, and chair professor and Dean of College of Planning and Design, China University of Technology. Currently Lin serves as art director of Lin Pey-Chwen Digital Arts Lab, director of Taiwan Art & Technology Association, honorary chairwoman of the Taiwan Women's Art Association (TWAA). She has received many art awards and recognitions, including Taiwan Chung-Shing Award, Taiwan Public Art Award, Red Dot Award, One of The Best Asian Artists Selected by Picasso Mio, The First Prize (FELLOWSHIP PRIZE 2020 – Platinum Certificate Award in Art Project category) in Art Woman 2020 International Exhibition, PPLG Project & Services for the Culture and Contemporary Art Italy, and Australian Visa of Distinguished Talent, etc. Lin’s artworks have gained worldwide recognitions including featured artworks in 40 Years Edition of Chronicles of Taiwan Contemporary Art (2012), report in the Special Column of Global Women’s Museum IGNITE, exclusive interview with Archive of Digital Art(ADA), and the Special Column of Pripheral ARTeries Biennial, etc. In 2019, she became the recipient of Lorenzo il Magnifico, the winner of the first prize of new media art category of Italy XII Florence Biennial of International Award. After coming back to Taiwan from America in 1989, Lin first had a solo exhibition at American Cultural Center and joint the contemporary art group “Apartment No. 2” upon invitation. In 1998 she published Women Art Discourse, the first book on Taiwanese female artists. Later she co-founded the Taiwan Women's Art Association (TWAA) with other established female artists and became one of the major promoters for Taiwanese women’s art. Since 2010, Lin has initiated contextual research and series exhibitions of digital art at Taiwan and published the first Taiwan digital art book, Taiwan Digital Art E-Files, which mark her as the widely-acclaimed pioneer of Taiwan digital art. Her works have been invited in many exhibitions all around the world such as Queens Museum in New York, Exit and Via Art Festival in France, WRO Media Art Biennale in Poland, Taipei Biennial, Taiwan Biennial, ACM Siggraph Asia Art Show and Linz Festival of Hong Kong Garden, etc. Her achievements have been documented in many art journals and art history books internationally, such as n.paradoxa International feminist art journal, East Asian Journal of Popular Culture, International Journal of Cultural and Creative Industries, and History of Contemporary Art in Taiwan, etc. Her “Eve Clone Series”was featured in the Special Column of Global Women’s Museum IGNITE, ‘agideas International Design Forum’ in Australia and ‘The Borders of Digital Art International Symposium’ in University of Oxford in England, etc.
